A social experiment conducted by Michael W. Fordyce who was recognized as a pioneer in the scientific study of happiness, shows how effective the SWBT is to promote well being among a selected number of people in a real world context.
In the experiment reported by three psychologists from ASIPSE School of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy of Milan the Quality Of Life (QOL) is being analyzed.
Starting from 1960s the common perception of QOL is seen as an ever-increasing possession of material goods rather than considering the crucial elements for happiness such as love and friendship, the satisfaction of taking care of our loved ones, self-esteem, freedom from offenses and humiliation.
The SWBT method derives from the more famous Michael W. Fordyce who was recognized as a pioneer in the scientific study of happiness. in fact Fordyce demonstrated the effective- ness of the programme of the 14 fundamental of happi- ness in a series of empirical studies that verified how participants can develop the characteristics of happy people and thus increase their happiness.
